Change happens when enough people speak up in one voice.”

And they did on April 8th at MASKS for AID: voices! Co-chaired by Kelsey Walsh Perry and Hailee Bland Walsh, the evening featured the premiere of our documentary video and a custom-crafted performance piece, by EPIC Innovative Events, designed to let us hear the voices of those whose lives are changed by head and neck cancer. Eight original works of art, created from patient’s radiation masks, were on display and auctioned. Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions offered food at multiple food stations, themed to correspond to the three cities featured in the live auction of art-inspired trips. A record-breaking $443,000 was raised. Our thanks to the generous guests that night and for the remarkable support from our sponsors.

Limited-edition 2016 MASKS for AID™ Journal

Journaling (or keeping letters and diaries) dates back to the 10th century. Pen on paper can serve as a powerful life tool. There is increasing evidence to support that journaling has a positive impact on physical well-being; helping to reduce stress, manage anxiety and providing a safe space for releasing thoughts and feelings. Many with cancer or other chronic diseases use journaling as a powerful aid in their healing.

Although our event for this year is complete you still have the opportunity to support head and neck cancer patients in the Kansas City area. With a donation of $100 or more to HNC Living Foundation, you will receive this blank-page limited edition journal produced exclusively for the 2016 MASKS for AID event. The journal features images of the powerful and transformative art featured at the 2016 event.
